State General Secretry of Pradesh Congress Committee and MLA Bandipora Usman Majid apologize on behalf of Cricketers who were detained for allegedly playing the Pakistani national anthem before a cricket match in Bandipora District of Northern Kashmir. Majid said, I say sorry on their behalf. Usman strongly batted for their release, added that the cricketers might have acted under pressure from mischievous elements during the cricket match. He said that he on behalf of these Cricketers I am apologising to the people for their unintentional mistake. Usman Majeed sought amnesty for the youth arrested for playing Pakistani anthem before a cricket match. Earlier in Assembly he said you gave amnesty to the first time stone-throwers, Let them also go. Pertinently Police detained four cricketers for playing Pakistan’s National Anthem before the start of the cricket match. Earlier, A video clip went viral on social media, showing them playing Pakistani national anthem before the start of the game. Later Police booked them under section 13 of the unlawful activities Act under FIR number 4/2018.
