"Civilian Killed in Khudwani went to Submit B.Sc Exam Form, Never came Back." | KNO

Khalid Ahmed Dar son of Abdul Salam Dar resident of Redwani Payeen became first civilian victim of government forces in year 2018 when he was killed in khudwani area of South kashmir's kulgam district on Tuesday. Pertinently around 60 civilians in 2017 and 120 in 2016 were killed during clashes with government forces. Despite that there were no clashes in khudwani area but due to unknown reasons my son was targeted and killed by forces says father of khalid, who was killed by government forces yesterday near SKUAST building Khudwani. There was no demonstration. It was only after my son's death that the protests began, said Abdul Salam Dar father of Khalid, while tears pouring down his face. Those security men who killed my son should not go unpunished, he demanded. He told The Kashmiriyat that Khalid was targeted otherwise he would not have received bullet in his chest. Eyewitnesses told The Kashmiriyat that Khalid Ahmed Dar whose date of birth as per school records is 01 March 1996 was fired upon by army in his chest who were in their vehicle. They added that he was shifted somehow to Qaimoh hospital from were referred to janglat mandi Anantnag where doctors declared him brought dead. They also said that there was not stone Pelting in the Area but due to unknown reasons Khalid and other boy of same area was targeted, however Khalid received bullet injury in his chest and succumbed while Yasir Ahmed Dar S/o Abdul Quyoom Dar aged 23 Resident of Khudwani was also hit with a bullet on his right arm, whose condition is said to be stable. His father further added that on Tuesday around 11 am, Khalid said he will go to college to submit form for admission in BSC 5th semester and we didn't know whether he submitted form or not but around 3:30 pm we received a call that your son has received bullet injury and around 6 pm we received his dead body and later he was laid to rest around 7: 30 pm. Moreover, My son has never participated in anti government protests and was not having any links with militant and I want to know what was his fault that he was killed. His bother Tariq Ahmed Dar says Khalid was very good in his studies from very beginning and he secured 376 marks out of 500 (Distinction 75.2%) in 10th, 304 out of 500 in 12th (60.4%) and also 70 % marks in first four semesters of BSC which he was pursuing from government boys degree college khanabal Islamabad (Anantnag). He added that government always orders for probe however on ground these probes always remain incomplete. Khalid has four brothers and one sisters besides aged parents, among them one brother namely Sartaj Ahmad ( govt teacher) and sister namely Sarwa are married while as Tariq, Khurshid and Shabir are unmarried, among them Shabir Ahmed is physically and mentally challenged. His mother sara Banoo refused to talk as she is in shock since her son was killed. Meanwhile police sources said that an FIR case no 5 of 2018 stands Registered at police station Kulgam in this regard and investigation is going on. Also on the directions of chief minister Mehbooba Mufti,deputy commissioner Kulgam, Talat Parvaiz has already appointed additional deputy commissioner Kulgam as the inquiry officer to ascertain facts and submit report within period of 15 days about the death of said youth.
