DC takes stock of preparations for R-Day celebrations | KNO

SRINAGAR, JANUARY 11 (KNO) : District Magistrate Srinagar, Dr. Syed Abid Rasheed Shah, Thursday visited and, later, convened a meeting at the Sher-e-Kashmir Stadium at Sonwar here to take stock of ongoing preparations for the upcoming Republic Day celebrations there. The main function of this year’s Republic Day celebrations in the district will now be held at the Sher-e-Kashmir Stadium because of ongoing renovation works at the Bakshi Stadium. Various issues about inter-departmental coordination were resolved on the spot on the occasion. The DM instructed all the concerned to make all the preparations well in advance to ensure that the celebrations are observed with full grandeur. Dr. Shah also enjoined upon the concerned to make sure that all the necessary steps are taken to ensure full-proof security at this new venue. The meeting also discussed different preparations made for the occasion like cultural programme , march past and facilities for the public made at the venue. SSP Security, SSP Srinagar, senior officers of R&B and various line departments were present on the occasion.(KNO)
