Srinagar, 13 Jan (KNO) : Expressing deep concern over the developments which forced four honorable Supreme Court judges to make public their observations over functioning of Supreme Court, AIP Supremo and MLA Langate Er. Rasheed has said that the developments are not only detrimental for Indian judiciary but will have vast consequences in the entire subcontinent. While interacting with various deputations in Srinagar today Er. Rasheed said, “While judiciary is an institution that has always earned respect among common masses, it has to be above political interferences and personal interests, likes and dislikes. Unfortunately since past many years the credibility of few honorable judges has been questioned and several issues surfaced, creating lot of confusions over many serious issues. However while till now these issues were being discussed within the judiciary, but now the way four Supreme Court judges have openly came out against chief justice of India it speaks about the fact that all is now well. "Er. Rasheed said, '' The ultra nationalism and religious fundamentalism seems to have penetrated in judiciary as well and it has been one of the core reasons why Kashmiris had cried that Afzal Guru couldn't get justice and fell victim not to the collective conscience of Indian masses but to the political agenda of then ruling congress party. One still fails to find the answer that how come was Afzal Guru picked from serial no 28 to serial no. 1 and sent to gallows, even without providing him a proper lawyer. It was not only a judicial murder but the way his dead body too was not handed over to the family did shake faith of all justice loving people especially Kashmiris in the system" Er. Rasheed appealed those who matter to ensure the neutrality and supremacy of judiciary in India and reminded the honorable judges of the fact that any citizen deprived of justice has the last hope in judiciary and judiciary has to ensure its neutrality even under worst circumstances.
