Kulgam police registers case against news channel “V6” | KNO

Srinagar, January 17 (KNO) : Kulgam police has registered a case against a news channel “V6” who telecasted pictures of innocent youth of Kulgam as militants. In reference to "V6" news channel telecast in which two innocent youth namely Farhan Shafi, a class 12th student, son of Mohammad Shafi resident of Wanigund Qaimoh and Farhat Rashid, a Diploma holder, son of Abdul Rashid Wani resident of Redwani Payeen who have been shown by the instant news channel as militants in place of killed militant Farhan Wani of Wanigund. On 9th of January 2018, an encounter took place between security forces and militants at Larnoo village of Kokernag area in which one militant namely Farhan Wai of HM resident of Wanigund Khudwani was killed. The news channel “V6” on the same day telecasted news wherein they have shown both the innocent youth as militants. Police has taken cognizance into the matter and a case FIR number 15/2018 was registered in Police Station Kulgam and investigation has been taken up.(KNO)
