Srinagar Jan 18 (KNO) : Congress today strongly condemned the brutal murder, rape of minor bakerwal girl in Kathua and described the incident as highly condemnable, shocking. Congress also demanded stern action against the culprits involved in this heinous crime, urging that Govt must ensure safety and security of the people, as that, people were feeling insecure even in their homes in the backdrop of this gory incident. Strongly condemning the brutal murder and rape of minor bakerwal girl in Kahtua, the J&K Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) President G.A. Mir has expressed anguish over this unfortunate incident describing it as highly painful and shocking, saying that the brutal murder of minor has saddened him a lot. Stating that the perpetrators of this heinous crime must be identified very urgently for stern punishment, G.A. Mir said that State Govt must take effective measures to ensure safety and security of the people, as that, the crime rate in the State is slightly rising, which has to be controlled to ensure safe and peaceful atmosphere in the State. “I felt disappointed to know that a minor bakerwal girl was raped and murdered, I understand this shameful act has brought bad name to the State. My heart goes out for the bereaved family who lost their minor girl”. I strongly condemn the murder of minor. I have a strong urge that Govt must gear up all agencies of J&K Police to ensure crime free society in the larger interests of common masses. G.A. Mir added. He offered deepest condolences to bereaved family and prayed for their courage to bear this irreparable loss. Congress President also emphasized that State Govt must take effective measures to curb anti peace, anti-social elements, as that will only infuse sense of security among the people.(KNO)
