47 road projects worth Rs 83 cr under execution in Sonawari constituency : Naeem | KNO

Minister for Works (Roads & Buildings), Naeem Akhtar informed the house that around 47 road projects, worth Rs 83.24 crore, taken up under NABARD/CRF and State Sector are in progress in Sonawari Constituency. He said the projects are at different stages and Rs 4.45 crore has been spent till ending 2017 against a total release of Rs. 5.20 crore. Replying to a Question by Mohammad Akbar Lone, the Minister further informed that work on construction of Engineering College at Safapora is in full swing and some of its components stand completed. He further informed that two persons namely Zahoor Ahmad Rather s/o Abdul Rashid Rather r/o Ajas Bandipora and Mohammad Yaseen Bhat s/o Abdul Gaffar Bhat r/o Safapora Ganderbal have been engaged as piece workers for the said project and an amount of Rs.2.30 crore has been released in their favour, said the Minister. Replying to a specific query by the Member, the Minister said that all works have been taken up for execution after following proper tendering process. (KNO)
