Srinagar,19 Jan (KNO) : National Conference leader Adv Nazir Ahmad Mailk has blamed the State Government for their failure in inaugurating the maiden power grid station despite its completion here in North Kashmir’s Bandipora district. Malik said, that the grid station is complete and awaits Inauguration but politics is being played and people are forced to reel under darkness in this harsh winter. He said, two to three towers are to be established but the political leaders are provoking the land owners for their personal benefits setting public outrage aside and are causing delay in inauguration of this Grid. He criticized District Administration for miserably failing to convince the land owners. He said, the district administration arrested poor land owners whose land was coming under towers established for 330MW and forcibly acquired their land, why can’t they repeat same as it is also in public interest, Malik said. He said, the officers have become mouth piece of present political leaders and are acting as their agents, the callous attitude of administration is forcing 110 villages of Bandipora to suffer and are forcing them to come on roads, he said. He alleged MLA Bandipora of ignoring his constituency and said he has failed to raise people friendly issues pertaining to his constituency in assembly, seeing the demonstrations of people he should have raised issue of Grid station, he said. To mention here, the foundation for 50 MVA, 132/33 KV grid station was laid in 2009 and has already missed two dead lines, the grid was to be commissioned on December 2016 since then another year has passed but woes of people are still the same.(KNO)
