Srinagar, January 21 (KNO) : JKLF (R) general secretary Wajahat Bashir Qureshi, Sunday paid tributes to the victims of Gaw Kadal massacre. In a statement, Qureshi said, “On January 21 1990 these martyrs injected a new spirit into the freedom movement of Kashmir. They gave a befitting reply to India that Kashmiris will never accept the forcible and illegal occupation,” he said. “It is responsibility of this nation to carry forward their mission,” he added. He said that there were many such cases where “innocent Kashmiris were slaughtered for nothing. Remembering Gaw Kadal massacre martyrs on their 28th anniversary, Qureshi said that we will never forget their sacrifices and are obliged to carry their mission till its logical end. He strongly condemned state administration for laying curbs on people’s movement, saying they don’t even allow us to visit martyr’s graveyards. He expressed his deep concern over the arrest of Gazi Javed, saying local stooges despite their parroting about their so-called democracy are denying the fundamental righties of people and barring political activists to carry their peaceful political activities.(KNO)
