Jammu, January, 22 (KNO) : While raising supplementaries in his question regarding power curtailments etc, M.Y.Tarigami, CPI(M) MLA said that the government has failed to fix the responsibility of the officials responsible for missing the most important document related to MOU signed with NHPC. Despite repeated assurances on the floor of the House, the successive governments have not yet engaged the qualified organization and consultants to quantify the losses incurred by the state in lieu of Indus-Water Treaty. Again despite repeated assurances, it has not succeeded to get any concrete commitment from Government of India for transfer of NHPC projects to the state; the answer of the minister is dally delaying. Why the government feels shy to inform the House that GOI is still reluctant to initiate any step in the direction of redressal of this long pending grievance. Tarigami, besides, said that whatever the claims, the fact remains that the department utterly failed to initiate the process of implementation of Centrally Sponsored Schemes so far, which has put the common people in serious hardships.(KNO)
