Though Government has claimed that the list of regularization of Casual Labourers has not been finalized but the list that has been out is full of discrepancies. Even students and employees from far flung Gurez area of North Kashmir’s Bandipora district have been enrolled in the Casual Labour list. Munir Ahmed Wani of Achoora Gurez who is currently posted in one of the branches of Jammu Kashmir Bank here in Srinagar figures at serial number 1108. “As per the list Munir Ahmed Wani has been working as a Casual Labour in Health Department at Sub-Centre Achoora Gurez.” A Sarpanch from Dawar area has managed to enroll four of his family members in the Casual Labour list. One of the members Rahila Akbar Sheikh who is still a teen ager figures in the list at serial number 1096. “When one keenly observes the list particularly about the Gurez region, he finds it full of discrepancies. It seems as people have been enrolled on the basis of their political approach,” senior Congress leader from Gurez Mir Hamidullah told news agency CNS. He alleged that even illiterates have been enrolled in the list. “Majority of the people enrolled as Casual Labourers are either students or affiliated with a particular political party. It is a big scam and even officials are part of this scandal,” Hamidullah said adding that even minors have been shown working in different departments as Casual Labourers. He demanded a thorough probe and stringent punishment for those who deprive deserved aspirants and pave way for people on the basis of political affiliation.
