Kishtwar Police Arrests Absconding SPO, Busts Hideout, Recovers Stolen Weapon | KNO

KISHTWAR,JAN 22 (KNO) : Kishtwar Police in a joint operation with troops of 11 RR in Marwah area has tracked down the absconding SPO of Police Station Marwah who fled away two days back after stealing the AK-47 of a constable to join the militant ranks.While divulging details in a press conference at District Police Headquarters Kishtwar, the Senior Superintendent of Police Kishtwar Abrar Chowdhary said that on 20-01-2018 one SPO Mohd. Yaseen SPO No. 1292 posted in Police Station Marwah deserted the Police Station after stealing the AK-47 service weapon of one constable Mushtaq Ahmed of Police Station Marwah and left into Nowapachi forests to join militant ranks.The police of Police Station Marwah registered FIR under relevant provision of law and constituted various teams to search and apprehend the fleeing terrorist.Today the police parties led by SHO Police Station Marwah Inspector Farooq Khateeb and Dy SP Operations Kishtwar Nissar Khoja alongwith the parties of 11 RR led by Major Vijay Raj Purohit under the supervision of SSP Kishtwar Abrar Chowdhary cordoned off the Kachpeth forests and during the combing operations the search parties arrested the deserting SPO Mohd Yaseen alongwith a civil accomplice Reyaz Khandey S/O Ghaffar Khandey R/O Methwan, Marwah. The police & army joint operation parties have recovered the stolen weapon alongwih the whole ammunition. The Police arrested the duo and has recovered all the logistic items accumulated by the terrorist duo in the newly constructed hideout. Senior Superintendent of Police Kishtwar Abrar Chowdhary has further revealed that the newly cracked module was aimed at reviving the militancy in the Chenab region. Police is seriously looking into the hands behind reviving the militancy in the Chenab region as revealed in the preliminary investigation, said the SSP.(KNO)
