1947 Lecturers engaged on academic arrangement to meet staff dearth : Altaf Bukhari | KNO

JAMMU, JANUARY 23 (KNO) : Minister for Education, Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari today informed the Legislative Assembly that the Government has engaged 1947 eligible candidates for the current academic session to meet dearth of teaching staff in Government Higher Secondary Schools of the state. Replying to a Question of Jewan Lal, the Education Minister informed that these candidates have been appointed at a monthly remuneration of Rs 7000. The Minister said there is no policy to regularize the candidates engaged on academic arrangement and the tenure of engagement of such candidates is co-terminus with the academic session. Elaborating on the engagement of ReTs in the department, he said that the authorities have initiated the process of rationalization of schools and consolidation of resources, as a result of which the process of finalization of ReT selection panels is pending at various levels. “Presently, there are 1925 and 607 ReT panels pending in respect of Jammu and Kashmir divisions respectively,” said the Minister.(KNO)
