Srinagar, Jan 23 (KNO) : The Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front Chairman Javaid Ahmad Mir has welcomed the UN Chief’s spokesperson Stephane Dujarric’s statement in which he said “Antonio Guterres is following the India-Pakistan border situation where there has been firing by both sides. He is encouraging both nations to hold a dialogue.” Javaid Ahmad Mir said until the Kashmir issue is not resolved as per the wishes and aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir, the peace and stability is not possible in whole of the South Asian region. He also appealed UN to send their peace keeping force to Kashmir. “Kashmir dispute is the very old dispute and the people of Kashmir have given huge sacrifices from last 7 decades. UN should take practical steps in implementing the UN resolutions on Kashmir instead of giving statements, “Mir said in a statement. Javaid Ahmad Mir said that Kashmir was an internationally-recognized dispute and had been pending with the United Nations for last seven decades. He appealed to the United Nations and the world community to take notice of the Indian brutalities in the occupied territory and play role in peaceful settlement of the lingering dispute.(KNO)
