High Level Congress delegation led by G.A. Mir visits parents of rape victim Asifa | KNO

Srinagar Jan 24 (KNO) : The J&K Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) President G.A. Mir accompanied by Senior Party Functionaries visited parents of victim Asifa an eight year old rape victim, who was raped subsequently brutally murdered at Hira Nagar Kathua and offered sympathies to them. G.A. Mir was accompanied by Senior Vice President Shamlal Sharma, Vice President Raman Bhalla, CLP Leader Nawang Rigzin Jora, Pankaj Dogra, G.L. Chalotra Ex. MLA and other senior party functionaries. Consoling bereaved family of victim Asifa, G.A. Mir spent some time with them expressed solidarity with the bereaved family. Congress Delegation also offered deepest condolences to them and prayed for their courage to bear the irreparable loss. Expressing anguish over the gruesome murder of Asifa, G.A. Mir demanded that stern action against the guilty must be taken inorder to ensure justice to eight year old girl, but at the sametime, he emphasized that probe must be conducted on fast track basis to ascertain the identity of the culprits involved in this heinous crime. On this occasion G.A. Mir lashed out at State Govt for failing to ensure timely justice to victim, saying that the State Police must ascertain the identity of culprits to ensure exemplary punishment to them. He said Congress Party will not compromise on the prestige and honour of the people, it will fight for the justice, safety and security of the people, G.A. Mir added G.A. Mir expressed anguish over this incident, apprehending that the situation may deteriorate, incase the culprits are not identified and punished at right earnest.(KNO)
