Kishtwar Police Works Out Burglary in 24 hours | KNO

KISHTWAR ,Jan 24 (KNO) : Kishtwar Police has worked out a case of burglary (theft) within 24 hours of the reporting of the same. The police has recovered the stolen goods worth lakhs of rupees from the accused after arresting him. The police recieved a complaint in police station Chatroo today that is on January 24 from one Mohamddu Wani s/o Munnawer Wani R/O Kuchhal, Chatroo that during the intervening night of 23/24 January some unknown miscreants have broken the doors of his residential house and have stolen the ornaments worth rupees 4 lakhs approximately along with rupees 12000 in cash. The police registered the case FIR No. 04/2018 u/s 457/380 RPC in Police Station Chatroo and started investigation. The police team headed by SHO police station Chatroo Inspector Mohd Badhir under the supervision of the District Superintendent of Police Kishtwar Abrar Chowdhary rounded up few notorious suspects of the area. The sustained interogation of one Mohd Shafi s/o Abdul Aziz Khan resident of village Kuchhal Chatroo led to the confession of burglary by him. The accused used the iron rods and sharp iron cutters to break open the house. The police has recovered the whole stolen property including ornaments worth four lakhs and cash amounting to rupees 12000. The police has arrested the accused and has taken him on police remand by producing him before the magisterate. The police has advised the complainant to move application before the concerned quarters for release of the stolen property. The police is further interogating the accused to ascertain his involvement in other cases.(KNO)
