JAMMU, JANUARY 24 (KNO) : Minister for Disaster Management, Relief, Rehabilitation and Reconstruction (DMRRR), Javaid Mustafa Mir, has asked Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Baseer Ahmed Khan, to conduct an enquiry into the reasons and circumstances that led to caving in of the embankment at Lasjan. The Minister, taking a strict note of the incident, has assured that as soon as the report of the enquiry is received the guilty will be brought to book. He asked the Secretary PHE, Irrigation & Flood Control to ensure that restoration work is started by Chief Engineer Irrigation and Flood Control Department immediately. The Minister also gave directions to Director Disaster Management to personally visit the spot and assess the situation.(KNO)
