CFV likely to end as BSF-PAK Rangers hold Sector Commander Level Flag meeting at RS Pura | KNO

On request of Pakistan Rangers, today on 25th Jan 2018, from 1200 hrs to 1230 hrs, a Sector Commander level Flag Meeting was held between Border Security Force and Pakistan Rangers on International Border in Suchetgarh area. The BSF delegation comprising five officers was led by Sh. P S Dhiman, DIG BSF Jammu Sector, and Brig Amjad Hussain, Sector Commander Chenab Rangers, Sialkot Punjab, Pakistan led the Pakistan delegation comprising of 10 officers including Wing Commanders. Last meeting of Sector Cdr level was held on 29th Sep 2017. This meeting is the first Sector Commander level meeting held on the request of Pak Rangers between the two border guarding forces since heavy shelling and firing experienced on the International Border during the last week in which BSF gave calibrated reply to Pakistan. During this period of firing and shelling BSF foiled successfully number of infiltration attempts from Pak soil, including killing of one intruder infiltrated on 04 Jan 2018 in area of Arnia Sector. During the meeting, BSF strongly objected on dastardly acts of snipping of two BSF Soldiers on 03 Jan and 17 Jan 2018 and further resorting to unprovoked Firing & Shelling targeting number of Indian villages, innocent civilian and their properties. BSF conveyed strong protest with message that such provocating acts are unacceptable and will not be tolerated.
