Srinagar 28 January 2018 (KNO) : Police foiled today AIP’s march against killing of two youth in Shopian at the hands of army, which started near UN Office and was to be concluded near CM’s residence at Gupkar Srinagar. Breaking strict restrictions scores of protesters led by AIP Supremo and MLA Langate Er. Rasheed started the march chanting slogans against the killings, seeking revocation of AFSPA, urging UN to wake up and asking Mehbooba Mufti to discharge her duties of protecting life and property of innocent Kashmiris. However while the march was proceeding towards Mehbooba Mufti’s residence, large contingent of police used force to disperse the march and arrested dozens along with Er. Rasheed and lodged them in police station Ram Munshi Bagh Srinagar. Speaking to media persons before being arrested Er. Rasheed said that Mehbooba Mufti has lost the moral authority to rule the state and has surrendered everything to New Delhi. He said “Not only as Chief Minister but as head of unified command it is her legal duty to deliver justice and arrest the killers without staging dramas of so called magisterial inquiries. Gen. Bepin Rawat seems to have taken the direct control of dealing with everything related to suppressing peaceful voice of masses. It is a tragedy that Mehbooba Mufti, Nirmala Sita Raman and Rajnath Singh have been passing the buck to each other and trying to confuse the masses about what is happening on the ground. Kashmiris reject all magisterial probes and all the killings strengthen will of Kashmiris to fight for their fundamental right”. Er. Rasheed appealed world community to wake up and stop India from carrying genocide of Kashmiris. He said “United Nations and the world community must ask New Delhi not to cover the shameless killings of unarmed protesters by giving false excuses and claiming to be defending itself from alleged insurgence”. Those arrested included party senior leaders Zeeshan Pandith, Parvez Jamal and Prince Parvez. Later in the afternoon Er. Rasheed was shifted to his residence and placed under house arrest. (KNO)
