A team of Jammu and Kashmir police led by Station House Officer of Police station Soura Wednesday evening raided the house of Dukhtaran e Millat chairperson Syedah Aasiya Andrabi at 90 feet road and attempted to arrest her. However, the bid to arrest Aasiya Andrabi was foiled by her personal secretary Sofi Fehmeeda. Fahmeeda said that the police carried the arrest warrant from the first class magistrate of Srinagar. “Baji Sahiba is ill for the last several days and is bed ridden. The goons in uniform still wanted to arrest her.” However, she said, she resisted the move and did not allow the police to arrest Syeda Aasiya. The police later put the ailing DeM chairperson under house arrest at her Soura residence. Meanwhile, Fehmeeda requested the people of Kashmir to pray for the speedy recovery of Baji Sahiba and her well-being.
