MC staff stage protest and demonstration in Bhaderwah | KNO

BHADERWAH,FEB 03 (KNO) : Employees of the Municipal Committee Bhaderwah staged a protest and demonstration in the premises of old bus stand ,Bhaderwah against the thrashing of their colleagues allegedly by a contractor and some other persons here today .Office-bearers of Sweepers Association and other employees association demanded from administration and other law enforcing agencies to take necessary action against those who had thrashed employees and put hurdles in their official work.The accused in the case are still at large. The employees boycotted the work and sat on dharna outside the Municipal Committee office in the premises of old bus stand Bhaderwah . Abdul Majeed , president of the Sweepers Association of the MC employees, said, “If the police will not arrest the accused, we will intensify our struggle.”It is worth mentioning here that one contractor of a private telecom company , and some other persons thrashed the municipal employees and create hurdles in official work in the premises of the committee and want favor in illegal works .Nisar Ahmed , Arshad Kagazgar , Mohd Hussain and other also spoke on the occasion. Later senior civil and police officers which included SDPO Bhaderwah Brijesh Sharma and Tehsildar Masood Rangraz reached the spot and assured that the guilty persons will be arrested. On the assurances of the officers, the protesters dispersed peacefully.Meanwhile, the protesting employees said that if action will not be initiated against the accused persons , they will go for indefinite strike. BJP Minority cell district general secretary Firdous Bhagwan , Congress Youth leader Nasir Shah have and other leaders also condemned this act of contractor and demanded a stern action against the guilty."We lodged our complaint with Additional deputy commissioner and SHO Bhaderwah for lodging FIR against the accused persons ," said Mohd Ashraf Zargar , Executive Officer Municipal Committee .(KNO)
