8 posts of Principals vacant in district Kulgam : Altaf Bukhari | KNO

JAMMU, FEBRUARY 06 (KNO) : Minister for Education Altaf Bukhari today said that there are eight posts of Principals of Higher Secondary Schools vacant in Kulgam district. Minister was responding to a calling attention notice by legislator Abdul Majid Larmi. Minister said the charge of these vacant posts, including Frisal, has been temporarily assigned to the Principals of adjoining Higher Secondary Schools in order to ensure smooth functioning of these institutions. He said the School Education Department on Supreme Court directions, has asked all the administrative departments to keep the slots meant for reserved category employees vacant/ unfilled till the matter is finally heard and disposed of by the Apex Court. He said because of this advisory, the Department is unable to fill vacancies at different levels, including posts of Principals in Kulgam district. He said the Department is actively pursuing the matter to fill all vacant posts including those of Principals and equivalent by placing eligible senior Lecturers/ ZEOs and equivalent (feeding cadre) as I/C Principals and equivalent. He further stated that the vacant posts of Principals and equivalent in Kulgam district, including Principal in HSS Frisal of Homeshalibugh constituency, shall also be filled shortly.(KNO)
