DDC Shopian inspects Major Developmental Works | KNO

Shopian 6th February 2018 (KNO) : District Development commissioner Shopian Mohammad Aijaz today conducted an extensive tour of the district and reviewed the progress of various ongoing developmental works/projects being executed in the district. During the tour, DDC visited Batapora Bridge and directed the executing agencies including R&B, to accelerate the pace of work and ensure timely completion of the project. It was given out that the estimated cost of Batapora Bridge is 6.50 Crore and 5.00 crore has been spent so for. DDC was accompanied by Executive Engineer R&B, Assistant Executive Engineer R&B, Tehsildar Shopian and other senior officers of concerned departments. DDC also visited Sindoo Shirmal where Additional block for Govt. High School Shirmal and 100 bedded capacity Gujjar & Bakerwal Hostel is being constructed. It was given out that the estimated cost for the construction of Additional Block for GHSS is 52.00 lacs and an amount of 15.00 lacs has been spent so for and estimated cost for the construction of Gujjar & Bakerwal hostel is 3.25 crore and an amount of Rs 2.0 crore rupees has been spent on the construction of Gujjar and Bakerwal Hostel till date. He took a detailed inspection of the buildings and directed the concerned to make every possible efforts to complete both projects in a time bound manner so that people are benefited at the earliest While inspecting the ongoing works at the sites, DDC gave special emphasis on the use of quality material. He also directed the executing agencies to expedite the pace of work and ensure that the project gets completed within stipulated period of time. He said that hostel will prove beneficial to the students of Gujjar and Bakerwal community who currently have to face many hardships while getting education. He further said that the hostel will come up with state of art infrastructure with all modern facilities like Reading rooms, recreation room, indoor games facility, computer lab, library, internet facility etc so that the students may not face any difficulty.(KNO)
