Rs 17.53 cr spent on BADP works during past 2 years: Dr Nirmal Singh | KNO

JAMMU, FEBRUARY 09 (KNO) : Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Nirmal Singh today informed the Legislative Assembly that the government has spent Rs 17.53 crore on power infrastructure under Border Area Development Programme (BADP) across the state in two years. Replying to a question by Dr Devender Kumar Manyal, the Dy CM said that Rs 46.00 lakh BADP works were completed in the District Samba during the year 2015-16 and 2016-17, while Rs 2.71 crore was allotted for the year 2017- 18, of which Rs 2.15 crore were spent till ending December 2017. He said the funds were spent on augmentation of seven 11/0.4 KV Sub-Stations along with HT/LT network. He said apart this, RAPDRP Part-B is also under execution in Samba District to improve and upgrade power infrastructure. Responding to another part of the question, the Deputy Chief Minister said that the capacity of the 66/11 KV Receiving Station, Thalote and Rahiyan has been augmented from 5 MVA to 10 MVA each Deputy Chief Minister further told the House that a Detailed Project Report (DPR) amounting to Rs.27. lakh has been formulated for Revamping/Improvement of 1x3.15 MVA, 33/11 KV Receiving Station Mandal Block has been prepared. The work shall be taken up as and when the funds are provided. New DPRs worth Rs 76.49 cr prepared for augmenting drinking water supply in Pulwama: Sham Choudhary The Minister for PHE, Irrigation & Flood Control, Sham Lal Choudhary informed the house that Government has formulated 15 Detailed Project Reports (DPR)s for development of new and upgradation of existing Water Supply Schemes to improve overall drinking water supply scenario in various segments of Pulwama district. “The exercise for preparation of these DPRs was taken up by the Department in the backdrop of constant depletion of various water sources of existing WSSs across the district” the Minister said while replying to a Question of Mohammad Khalil Band. Elaborating further, the Minister said that the DPRs envisage new and upgradation of existing WSSs at Gulbugh, Trich, Gadhanjipora, Mirbag Dohgam, Ratnipora, Khandaypora Nowgam, Puchal, Khanchoipora Lajoora, Narwa, Inder (Soch-Kral), Renzipora, Gulzarpora, Prannard-Badriwan, Baba Dawood Khaki, Awantipora, Banderpora-Puchal. He said these areas face shortage of drinking water for the past some time due to drying up/deletion of sources. He said shortage of water is also due to coming up of new habitations in the surrounding areas. The Minister further informed that the DPRs would be submitted to the agencies for funding and the schemes would be made operational in three years to benefit the people. Meanwhile, the Minister said as short term measure the Department is supplying drinking water to vulnerable areas through other means like hand pumps and tanker services . 2 PHE Divisions functional in Anantnag, 1 Spl Division in Kulgam: Sham Choudhary The Minister for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control, Ch Sham Lal informed the House that there are two PHE Divisions viz PHE Bijbehara and PHE Division Qazigund functional in district Anatnag. He further told the House that in addition to that there is a separate special PHE Division Kulgam with two sub-divisions at Kulgam and Damhal Hanjipora Replying to a question of Abdul Rahim Rather, the Minister said that presently there is no any proposal for creation of another PHE Division in Anantnag District. He said that PHE division Bijbehara has four sub-divisions viz Bijbehara, Anantnag, Kokernag and Pahalgam while as PHE division Qazigund has two sub-divisions viz Qazigund and Dooru.(KNO)
