SRINAGAR: Police have identified all the three militants who were killed in the military stations Sunjawan, Jammu. All the three, according to police, were operating in Kashmir Hindustan Times newspaper reported. “The attackers were all Pakistani citizens who had been operating in the Kashmir valley since last year, and had travelled to Jammu just days before the attack,” the newspaper quoted an official, belonging to central government, saying. “One of the attackers, Qari Mushtaq alias Chotu, was active in Tral in south Kashmir. The two others have been identified as Mohammed Adil alias Irfan Bhai, who was operating in Sopore and Pulwama sectors, and Mohammed Khalid Khan alias Rashid Bhai, who was also active in Pulwama.” “Information available with us suggests the attackers had crossed from Pakistan into the Kashmir valley sometime in July-August last year,” State Police Chief S P Vaid has told the Hindustan Times. “We suspect they may not have taken the risk of travelling with weapons from the Valley to Jammu. It is possible that some local supporters may have provided them with arms and ammunition. This angle is being probed.” Both the central security officers and the state police chief have a consensus that the militant trio had barged into the garrison from the rare of it and had “cut the tin sheets”. The camp’s rare is connected to a seasonal nallah. The suicide attack on the camp mounted during wee hours on February 10, ended more than 32 hours later. It led to the killing of five soldiers, father of a soldier and three militants. As many as 11 persons including five females and a minor were injured in the two days long gun battle. One of the injured is stated to be critical. The newspaper said the NIA team, that has already landed in Jammu, will take over the investigations.
