Arrangements finalized for Pahalgam Winter Festival 2018 | KNO

ANANTNAG, FEBRUARY 15 (KNO) : District Development Commissioner Anantnag, Muhammad Younis Malik today chaired a high-level meeting of officers at Pahalgam Club to finalize the arrangements for Pahalgam Festival 2018. The meeting was attended by SSP, Anantnag, CEO, PDA, SDM, Pahalgam, Xen’s of R&B, PDD, PHE, Bijbehara, Assistant Directors of Tourism, Handicrafts, Handlooms, Fire & Emergency Services, Executive officers of Municipal Council Anantnag, Municipal Committees of Bijbehara, Mattan, Aishmuqam, Pahalgam and other senior officers from various departments. The CEO, PDA, apprised the DDC about the arrangements put in place for holding of 2- Day Pahalgam Winter Festival commencing on February 17.

He further stated that seven venues have already been identified for different activities. The departments of Tourism, TDC, Agriculture, Horticulture, Floriculture, Handicrafts, Handlooms will establish their stalls for the visitors. Cultural Programmes will be also organized on these days. The District Development Commissioner, Anantnag directed all the concerned officers to make full proof arrangements with the regard to the successful holding of winter festival at Pahalgam. He directed PHE department for ensuring adequate drinking water supply keeping waters tankers at all venues and PDD for ensuring uninterrupted Power supply and keeping DG sets available. He also directed for proper sanitation from Bijbehara to en-route Pahalgam, keeping of fire tenders available to avoid any eventuality. Health Department was directed to establish Medical Aid Camps at the venues and supply of life-saving drugs. He directed all concerned departments for the establishment of stalls to highlight their activities during the festival. He directed Handicrafts, Handloom departments to keep available there material like Kani Shawls, Tila work Pharan, Handloom goods and other articles and also display the rate of the items.(KNO)
