Pulwama (KNO) : Villagers from Jandwal village in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district accused power development department for favoring some politically influential people by allocating them a high capacity transformer while denied connections to poor residents.
A group of people represented by Mohammad Yusuf of Banpora Mohalla of Jandwal village said few days ago their locality got a new transformer and that some people in convenience with PDD officials denied them connections from this transformer. The aggrieved residents said that they suffer from low voltage despite paying rupees 550.
Executive engineer power development department for Pulwama, Manzoor Ahmad Dar, said that in Jandwal the issue is that one group of residents is denying connections to other. “if they continue to deny them connections they will be charged according to consumption, which comes round 3 kws per house and if need arises first information report will also be lodged against them,” he said.(KNO)
