United Jihad Council has termed the reports about Syed Salahuddin as baseless and has said that Hizb and United Jihad Council Chief is the life line of Kashmir Freedom Struggle.

“He is not only life line but a force to reckon with. Salahuddin is not only the great leader of Kashmir Freedom Struggle but he is powerful as well who is leading the movement with full vigour, ” said Secretary General UJC, Sheikh Jameel-ur-Rehman to news agency CNS in a statement. Pertinently, an Indian Daily had claimed that due to rivalries in the top ranks of militant outfits, Jaish-e-Muhammad and Lashkar-e-Taiba are mounting pressure on Hizbul Mujahideen chief Syed Salahuddin to step down. In response to the said report, UJC, Secretary General accused India of resorting to fake propaganda about Syed Salahuddin.

“India has failed on every front in Kashmir and now it is using its media to malign the image of UJC Chief and furthermore it is spreading concocted lies that have no pedestal,” reads the statement. “The stories of rebellion or pressure on Syed Salahuddin are baseless. Kashmir Freedom Struggle will continue under the leadership of Salahuddin,” Rehman said
