POONCH, FEBRUARY 19 (KNO) : A Mega Job fair was today organized at Government Degree College Poonch by Employment & Counseling Centre. District Development Commissioner, Tariq Ahmed Zargar was the chief guest on the occasion, besides SSP Rajiv Panday and Principal Govt. Degree College Prof. Mussarat Hussain Shah were the guest of honour. The fair saw participation from large number of private sector employers, security and other services agencies. More than 600 youth were registered with District Employment & Counseling Centre during the fair.
More than 100 placements were also made to about 30 employers during the fair.
During the program, dignitaries interacted with unemployed youth of the district and advised them regarding exploring multiple avenues including private sector. Speaking on the occasion, DDC advised private sector employers to conduct frequent drives in far- flung areas to tap the talent in these areas.
Assistant Director Employment, Zamood Ahmed briefed about the aims and objectives of this program and assured that such program shall be frequently organized in future. He revealed that matter regarding opening of 24x7 Library and permanent counseling centre has been taken up with Higher Authorities and is expected to be established shortly.(KNO)
