PULWAMA, February 21 (KNO) : Deputy Inspector General (DIG) South Kashmir range Amit Kumar today visited Pulwama and inaugurated a police station at Kakapora, in presence of other district police officials.
The Kakapora police post was recently upgraded to a full-fledged station. SSP Pulwama, Chaudhary Muhammad Aslam and ASP Chandan Kohli were also present on the occasion. A Police Community Partenership Group (PCPG) meeting was also held at the Kakapora police station, chaired by the DIG Amit Kumar.
The meeting was attended by Traders Federation, Transport Union and a wide section of the civil society from Kakapora and some other adjoining villages. Another such meeting under the PCPG was chaired by the DIG at district police lines (DPL) Pulwama.Sarpanches, Panches, Numberdars, Market Committee, transporters, trade union, and a large number of respectable from Pulwama attended the meet. DIG assured appropriate disposal of all the points put forth by the participants.SSP Pulwama also assured any possible help to the participants on behalf of the police.
The officials also sought help from the civil societies for eradication of social evils, official spokesman told KNO As a goodwill gesture and engage the youth in a positive manner DIG south Kashmir Amit Kumar also distributed Sports Kits and uniform material to local youth.The distribution was done under the Civic Action Program.The SSP Pulwama, ASP Pulwama, Dy. SP DAR and Dy. SP Hqrs were also present on the occasion.
General public of the area especially youth appreciated the role of Police for distributing such items among the youth and requested that these programs should continue in future.(KNO)
