A day after Minister in Prime Minister’s Office Dr Jitendra Rana said that: “there is no harm in handing over Kathua rape and murder case to CBI,” former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said that If Jammu Kashmir Chief Minister agrees to hand the case over to the CBI it will be another instalment in the price she’s paying to remain CM.

Asifa was raped and murdered in Heranagar area of Kathua district while Crime Branch has already arrested an SPO Deepak Khujaria who according to CB has confessed his crime. CB has also arrested a minor and the associate of Khujuria. Right wing parties supported by BJP are demanding the release of the accused while Union minister and BP’s Udhampur MP Jitendra Singh has said there is no harm in handing over the Kathua rape and murder case to the Central Bureau of Investigation.

He also criticised “politicians at high positions” making “judgemental remarks” on the topic. While reacting over his remarks former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah tweeted: “The case is being handled by the J&K police. If @MehboobaMufti agrees to hand the case over to the CBI it will be another installment in the price she’s paying to remain CM.”
