JAMMU, MARCH 02 (KNO) : A delegation of Shri Amarnath Yatra Sangharsh Samiti comprising Brig. (Retd.) Suchet Singh, Sh. Pawan Kohli, Sh. Leela Karan Sharma and Sh. Ramesh Sabarwal, met Governor N.N. Vohra at the Raj Bhavan here today.

The delegation apprised Governor about the unacceptable delay in the implementation of the various components of the Agreement which had been reached between the Government and the Shri Amarnath Yatra Sangarsh Samiti in August 2008 which resulted in ending the Shrine land row agitation. They sought Governor’s intervention in the withdrawal of criminal cases registered against those involved in the agitation, urgent payment of ex-gratia to the next of the kin of the deceased, creation of corpus of Rs. 1 crore for creating job opportunities in the private sector for one member of the bereaved families and those who had been crippled in the course of the agitation.

Governor assured the delegation to take up their issues with the Chief Minister.(KNO)
