Kishtwar Police Works Out Culpable Homicide, 01 Arrested | KNO

Victim was killed for illicit relations with the relative of the accused

Kishtwar (KNO) : The Kishtwar Police has worked out a culpable homicide case occurred in the Lidrari, Paddar area. The victim was killed due to the illegal action on the part of the accused owing to his illicit relations with a relative of the accused. The police has arrested the accused and has taken him.

On 23rd February 2018, it was reliably learnt at Police Post Padyarna that a deadbody of one Mohd Hussain S/O Sikander Butt R/O Seer Bhata, Dool, Thesil Nagsani District Kishtwar is lying in suspicious condition in a pool of blood at the bank of river Chenab. On receiving this information Police parties led by SHO Police Station Kishtwar Sameer Jallani and Dy SP Headquarters Nihar Ranjan under the supervision of District Superintendent of Police Abrar Chowdhary visited the spot and examined the scene of crime and took the custody of the dead body.

Keeping in view of the sensitivity of the case, the Senior Superintendent of Police Kishtwar Abrar Chowdhary personally visited the scene of crime along with the Additional Superintendent of Police Kishtwar Perbeet Singh. The Police got the post mortem of the dead body conducted in the district hospital Kishtwar through a board of doctors. The police initiated inquest proceedings under section 174 of Cr PC. The District Superintendent of Police Kishtwar Abrar Chowdhary while briefing the media said that during the course of enquiry, it was found that on 17.02.2018 the deceased Mohd Hussain and one lady (name withheld) resident of Kijayi Paddar boarded a truck bearing registration No. JK02-AA, 6701 and were traveling towards Paddar.

When they reached at Bara Maroori the road was closed due to the landslide as a result of blasting. Another truck No. JK02W 0975 which was driven by one Akhtar Hussain S/o Rustam Ali Sheikh R/o Padhyarna, which was also on way to Paddar when reached near the other truck i.e. JK02AA -6701 driven by one Mohd Iqbal stopped there behind the land slide. The owner of truck bearing registration No. JK02W- 0975 Mohd Ashraf S/o Mohd Shafi R/o Patharnakki and Zahid Hussain S/o Israel prepared the food in their truck and also invited Mohd Iqbal driver of the other truck in which the deceased and the lady were sitting to join them for meals, said the SSP.

In the meantime Imtiyaz Ahmed @Bhola S/o Lassa Butt R/o Kijayi Paddar also joined them. All of them prepared the meals and enjoyed the meals. Suddenly Imtiyaz Ahmed @ Bhola asked Mohd Iqbal that who is in your truck. Responding to him Mohd Iqbal told him (Bhola) that there is one lady of Kijayi Paddar accompanied by one Mohd Hussain (deceased) R/o Dool. On hearing the name and residence of lady Imtiyaz Ahmed @ Bhola started abusing the said lady and deceased and he told that the deceased have an illicit relations with the lady, the lady is my relative and this act of deceased and the lady has created a bad image of their family in the Kijayi Paddar area. He said that I am in search of him since long. Today I have a chance and I would not spare him anylonger. He went into the truck in which the lady and deceased were sitting. After reaching into that truck he (Bhola) thrashed the deceased inside the truck and started beating him mercilessly with the blows and fists.

The deceased was saved from the clutches of Bhola with the interference of Mohd Iqbal, Akhter Hussain and Mohd Ashraf. The deceased person to save himself ran towards Kishtwar alongside the road facing Chenab bank. Bhola chased him and caught the deceased and started beating him again. Bhola despite knowing of the darkness and dangerous nature of area chased and beaten the deceased mercilessly. By the interference of eye witness present there on the spot deceased once again saved himself from the clutches of Bhola. The deceased again ran blindly alongside the road facing Chenab bank where there was a steep fall.

The accused ruthlessly chased the deceased till he falls down from the steep fall which was hundreds of meters in height. While falling down from the steep fall the deceased cried for help but in vain. By falling into this deep gorge the victim of merciless Bhola died on the spot. Bhola fled from the spot and the other passengers also fled away in the morning to avoid their unnecessary involvement. The District Superintendent of Police Kishtwar Abrar Chowdhary said that after through enquiry police has converted the proceedings under section 174 Cr. PC into FIR No. 50/2018 u/s 304 RPC. The police has arrested Imtiyaz Ahmed @ Bhola. The police beside other evidence will get the statements of the witnesses recorded before the magistrate under section 164-A Cr. PC. Further investigation of the case is in progress.(KNO)
