Srinagar  (KNO) :  Police on Wednesday foiled march towards South Kashmir as Authorities imposed strict restrictions and blocked all roads leading towards Shopian.In Accordance with the Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) program of the March towards Shopian today Hurriyat (M) Chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq was detained outside his Nigeen residence as soon as he tried to march towards Shopian At around 11:00 Am.

Chairman of Hurriyat (G) Syed Ali Shah Geelani was under house detention while JKLF Chairman Yasin Malik was arrested by Police and shifted to Kothi Bagh Police Station and later from were he was shifted to central jail Srinagar on Tuesday when he was started march towards Lal Chowk.

Heavy contingents of police and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) were also deployed.Shops were seen closed and public transport were seen off from roads. A complete shutdown and march towards Shopian call was given by Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) on Monday.Shutdown call was given by (JRL) Against shifting of all political prisoners outside the jails of valley and march towards Shopian call was given against 4 innocent civilians and 2 LET Militants who were killed in army shootout at Shopian. All Schools and collages had been closed by the admistration on Monday till Thursday 7 March 2018 to prevent law and order situation.

All exams had been also postponed till further orders. Train services between Baramulla and Banihal towns were suspended by the authorities.

Amid conflicting versions from Army, Chief Minister of J&K and the Family Members of the victims were seen in the shootout of Shopian By Army.

Army Version : As per statement of Army Brigadier Harbir Singh And Colonel N.S. Negi two speeding vehicles were asked to stop for checking at army check point which is near to Pohanu Village area of Shopian District South Kashmir on Sunday at around 8:00 Pm however both vehicles refused to stop and they continued to move when a search light was flashed by some Army persons on vehicles heavy firing came from the vehicles. In a gunfight one militant was killed instantly and Later 3 OGWs were found dead in one vehicle.

Later second vehicle was spotted at Pinzura village of shopian with a person dead inside.While body a LET Militant Amir Ahmad Malik found at encounter site and body of a second LET Militant Ashiq Hussain Bhat found next morning in an Apple orchard in Saidpura village of shopian. Two weapons were recovered from the slain militants the Army Official Said.

Family And Villagers Version : According to the villagers and family members the four deceased youths who got killed by Army in two vehicles identified as Gowher Ahmad Lone, Suhail Khalil, Mohammad Shahid Khan And Shahnawaz Ahmad Wagay all residents of Shopian were civilians one of the deceased father told that my son is Overground worker as he is a Class 12 student it’s a cold blooded murder. Brother Of the another deceased told that he had spoken to him just half an hour before his death and contested the Army’s claim.

Chief Minister Version : As Chief Minister of J&K Mehooba Mufti expressed distress over ther deaths of civilians in crossfire as other ruling party (PDP) vice president and MLA Shopian called the Shopian incident outrageous and condemned it.
