Four persons, including brother of an active militant were injured in clashes with government forces in south Kashmir’s Shopian on Wednesday.
The clashes erupted in Mimender, mini secretariat and Bone Bazar areas of the town during which forces fired pellets to disperse the stone pelting protesters. Hospital sources told Kashmir Reader that they received four injured among whom two with critical pellet injuries in their eyes have been referred to Srinagar for advanced treatment. Hospital sources identified one among them as Arsalan Bashir Turray, the brother of active Hizbul Mujahideen militant, Zubair Turray.
Authorities had locked the Shopian town to thwart a protest march called by the resistance leadership against the recent killings. Four civilians and two militants were killed in force’s action in Puhnoo village of Shopian on Sunday evening.
