PDP Committed for women empowerment : Vijay Dogra | KNO

JAMMU, July 15 (KNO) : J&K Peoples Democratic Party Women’s Wing President & VC Women’s Development commission Mrs Vijaya Dogra Katoch has said that that women empowerment is the priority of present coalition government led by Ms Mehbooba Mufti and added that a number of programmes for strengthening women were started during short tenure of government under the leadership of Late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed .

She was addressing a women workers meeting to commemorate the women’s day at party head quarters here in Jammu today. On this occasion District President (Womens) Mrs Jasmeet Pandey, Gurdeep Kour , Jassi Gandhi, Mrs Rajni Sharma, Mrs Nighat Chodhary, Parveen Akhtar and Anita Devi were also present and spoke to the gathering. Mrs Vijaya said that the present government is committed to fulfill the dreams of party’s late visionary leader for women development and their empowerment.

Mrs Dogra stressed upon women workers to whole-heartedly support the policies and programmes of the PDP and strengthen the hands of the Chief Minister and party president, Mehbooba Mufti "as she is the only leader in the State who has the vision about the problems of the women-folk and have capability to resolve them" she said. Highlighting the accomplishments of women in different fields of life, the Mrs Vijaya said that government schemes focused on women empowerment from“ Laadli”, “Aasra” to Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ along with various schemes for better health and education facilities, are unwavering efforts of present government towards women development which are enabling them to contribute to state and country’s growth.

Dogra said that the present government have accorded high priority to empowering women through various women development missions to enable them to become self-reliant. Asking women to come forward and avail benefits to build a social system that ensures the safety, security, and dignity of women in society, Dogra Said. Mrs Vijaya Dogra also urged them to work for strengthening the party and be ambassadors for spreading the pro people policies and programmes envisaged by late party patron at gross root level and help in establishing peace in the state.(KNO)
