Elderly man killed in mishap laid to rest amid shutdown | KNO

Parts of Baramulla here in North Kashmir observed shutdown to mourn the death of an elderly man. Abdul Aziz Ahangar, 65, died after he was hit by a police vehicle on Wednesday evening.

The family alleged that police tried to arrest their son Tawseef Ahmad Ahangar on the same evening and while trying to foil police attempt, father of the youth, Aziz, was hit by the police vehicle resulting in his death. Reports said that hundreds of people amid pro freedom slogans participated in the last rites of slain man while a shutdown was observed in Delina and its adjacent areas.

All the shops remained closed and huge deployment of police and paramilitary forces had been put in place to avoid protests in the area. Police said that they have already registered an FIR and arrested the driver.
