JAMMU (KNO) : Minister for Education Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari today assured a deputation of PDP from Bhaderwah that soon Cluster University will be opened in Bhaderwah area of Chenab valley keeping in view the infrastructure , land and merit of the area .
PDP general secretary Sheikh Mehboob Iqbal informed minister that Govt Degree College ,Bhaderwah was established in 1954 and is among the oldest institutions of the Jammu region . He also said that Bhaderwah campus of JU is also a old campus which needs up gradation and urged upon him to declare campus a full fledged University by converting it into the Cluster university and affiliate all Chenab region colleges with it .
Sheikh Mehboob Iqbal said in present scenario Bhaderwah is centrally located place of Chenab region and is also emerging a famous tourist destination .Minister for Education Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari listen the deputation patiently and assured opening up of Cluster university at Bhaderwah keeping in view the merit and infrastructure of area .
Dr Shaid Moghal , Mohd Ashraf Kelu , Shokat Malik , Tehseen Dev and other were also present on the occasion . It is worthwhile to mention here that the Jammu and Kashmir Government has sought six more cluster universities, three each for Kashmir and Jammu regions, even as a couple of these are expected to be sanctioned this year.(KNO)
