DODA , MAR 15 (KNO) : In the sternest action taken against its employees, the Deputy Commissioner, Doda Bhuwani Rakhwal suspended 31 officials of the various departments who were found unofficially absent .

During the inspection DC Doda found 31 officials absent from their duties without seeking prior permission from any authority. During his surprise visit DC Doda found that 31 employees were unauthorisedly absent from their duties especially in Khara , Bhagwah , Chairalla and Bhalla blocks of Doda district . He immediately put them under suspension till further inquiry.

The release of the salary of the suspended officials for the duration of the suspension shall be contingent upon the production of their attendance certificate by the respective enquiry officers. It is worthwhile to mention here that in a bid to check absenteeism in offices, government has instructed officers to ensure attendance through biometric system and has even ordered to make it mandatory but in Chenab valley maximum departments had thrown government orders to winds .

An improved daily attendance system in government departments has been flagged years ago, yet it remains as much absent as the derelict employees. (KNO)
