Srinagar, March 17 (KNO) : Chairman Hurriyat Conference, Syed Ali Geelani while suggesting Indian leadership to shun coercive measures, state force, reprisal and egoistic approach against people, asked to acknowledge the ground realities of the long-pending issue and adopt realistic and rational approach for its lasting and peaceful solution. Referring to RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat’s statement, wherein he has called for using strength and tact to counter pro-freedom people in Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh, Geelani stated that it illustrates the egoistic and arrogant approach of Indian leadership and testifies our claim that state affaires are run by these intolerant persons.

Mohan Bhagwat’s statement reflects the state policy of India, Geelani said and while referring to the historical perspective of right to self-determination, saying that right to self-determination is an inalienable ,accepted and birth right for subjugated nations and no power on earth can deny this right, he added. All member countries should honor and respect right to self-determination for all oppressed nations,” Geelani said, adding that since past seven decades Indian authorities while denying this right are following their policy of repression and coercion. People are being brutally killed, properties razed to ground, people and leadership caged on fake allegations, youth tortured and disappear in custody and rape is being as war weapon against women.

Geelani while declining to succumb to pressure, said that freedom movement has passed into fourth generation and they with their supreme commitment and dedication are facing all excesses and atrocities perpetrated by Indian forces, said Geelani. Hailing people for their commitment and bravery, Geelani said that we are sure and we have no doubt that people in state won’t budge to pressure tactics, instead will safe guard these cherished sacrifices. Syed Ali Geelani in his statement appealed youth to study Quran & Sunnah and asked to stand firm against conspiracies being hatched against Muslim Ummah.

We need to understand the follies and anti-movement activities being played by enemy and we should check and see that no black sheep gets entry in our folds, added he. Kashmir issue is a political and human issue, Syed Ali Geelani said and added that our view point is unambiguous, saying Kashmir is a political issue in nature and instead of force and coercion, political steps should be taken to solve it amicably and as per resolutions accepted in United Nation.(KNO)
