Citizen Council hold meet in Bhaderwah demaded Cluster University | KNO

BHADERWAH , MAR 17 (KNO) : All Jammu and Kashmir Senior Citizens Welfare Council today organised an emergency meeting at hotel city center ,Bhaderwah under the chairmanship of its president Nazir Ahmed Khan and demanded opening up of cluster university in Bhaderwah sub district keeping in view the availability of land and infrastructure .

Speaking on the occasion Dr Mohd Iqbal Rtd principal Govt Degree college Bhaderwah and senior leader of Council said that Govt Degree College ,Bhaderwah was established in 1954 and is among the oldest institutions of the Jammu region . He also said that Bhaderwah campus of JU is also a old campus which needs up gradation and urged upon him to declare campus a full fledged University by converting it into the Cluster university and affiliate all Chenab region colleges with it .

J S Charak educationist , said presently at Bhaderwah campus there is 400 Kanals of land available along with five buildings and in present scenario Bhaderwah is centrally located place of Chenab region and is also emerging a famous tourist destination on the one side side it connects with Himichal Pradesh , other side Chenab valley districts and Bani and Basoli areas .Speakers said cluster university will mean one major institute will lead 3-5 institutes in its vicinity.

They also said Govt Degree College Bhaderwah is among the oldest colleges in state and has the distinction of having more than a hundred years of history and has produced many intellectuals who had made a mark not only at national level but even at international level. so it is the duty of government to open cluster university at Bhaderwah and affiliate all colleges with it . Intikhab Khan , Owais Chowdhary , Raiz Ahmed Khan , Nasir K Shan , Jagan Nath , K K Kotwal , Mohd Yousuf Lone ,Sher Singh ,Vijay Sharma , Burhan Ganai and other also spoke on the occasion . (KNO)
