DODA , MAR 17 (KNO) : Bhaderwah Development Authority and Tourism department mock drill exercise turns real today when a boat carrying officers capsized in mighty river Chenab in Doda . Police said ,Chief Executive Officer Bhaderwah Development Authority and Assistant Director Tourism Doda were rescued on Saturday,from mighty river Chenab at Pul Doda area when a boat carrying them capsizes .

“Two of the trapped officers of the tourism department were rescued and evacuated to safety, when their trail boat capsizes were trapped in strong water currents in river Chenab at Pul Doda area on Doda Bhaderwah road ,”SSP Doda Mohd Shabir said. The rescued officers were identified as CEO BDA Dr Rajinder Khajuria and Assistant Director Tourism Doda Shazia Bano .

Chief Executive Officer Dr Rajinder Khajuria said BDA in collaboration with tourism department is going to organised an adventure tourism festival from March 19 and white river rafting was also in programme, but now after accident they had decided to cancel all water sports events on mighty river Chenab and had written a letter to higher ups in this connection .
