Announces Rs 1 lakh for purchase of sports kits

JAMMU, MARCH 18 (KNO) : Minister for Health & Medical Education, Bali Bhagat inaugurated the Annual Sports Meet of J&K High Court Bar Association here at Jammu University Ground today.

The sports activities like cricket, football, volleyball, athletic will be held during the week-long event wherein the players including, Members of Bar Association, Advocates and Members of Judiciary will participate and exhibit their skills in these fields. The other events will be held on 21st, 29th, 30th, 31st March and conclude on Ist April, 2018 The inauguration was made with cricket match, which was played between High Court Eleven and Jammu Dare Devil and won by High Court Eleven. President, Bar Association Jammu (BAJ) and senior Advocate, B.S. Salathia, Members of BAJ, large number of advocates and Members of Judiciary were present on the occasion. Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that sports activities are must for all to keep mentally as well as physically fit.

He said the advocates are always busty with their work not only during the day time, but also at late night hours and are supposed to get mental stress. Such sports events are quite beneficial to get relieved from the stress. He wished success to the organizers for the sports event. On the occasion, the Minister announced Rs. One lakh to the BAJ for purchase of sports kits to promote sports activities. The President and other Members of the BAJ conveyed gratitude to the Minister for gracing the occasion. On the occasion, the President demanded a piece of suitable land to the BAJ for establishing a Lawyers Club on the analogy of Press Club which is badly needed.(KNO)
