Different College Students Staged A Protest, 'They Demand Reduction In Syllabus' | KNO

Srinagar (KNO) : Various Students of diffrent Colleges of Kashmir hold a protest at Pratab Park Srinagar here on Tuesday against the education department as they were demanded 50% reduction on their syllabus and examination of their backlog papers.

As many students from different colleges assembled in Pratab Park here in Srinagar they start shouting slogans like we want justice dont play with our future some of the students also hold pla cards in their hands that can read 'We Want Justice Dont Play with our future'. While talking one of the student namely Basira Student of she told KNO that we started our course of UG on 2015 were supposed to finish them in 2017, but they are still left with two semesters. She also said that authorities have decided to take our 5th and 6th semester exam jointly and we are expected to prepare and study two semesters in three months which otherwise take twelve months.

As we have already lost our time soo that is the reason we are demanding to authorities for 50% deduction in our syllabus we are asking our authorities how can be it possible that we have to get prepare for two semisters just in upcoming three months is it possible us she said. Results of first backlog papers are still not declared yet as we conducted the exam in 2015. Basira also told KNO that if our genuine demand will not be fulfilled till Monday and then from Tuesday we will go for lock down strike and will hit on roads all the responsibility will be on the shoulders of Authorities.

Officials from colleges met students in a bid to pursue them to call off their protest, assuring them that their grievances will be addressed but all students denied and they were continuously shouting slogans we want justice.
