Social Forestry Deptt celebrates World Arbour Day | KNO

RAMBAN, MARCH 21 (KNO) : Department of Social Forestry organised plantation drive on World Arbor Day in the premises of Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS), Sangaldan here today. Range Officer, S.F Range, Batote, Mohd Shafiq, Block officers besides concerned officers, teachers, students and prominent citizens from different walks of life were present on the occasion.

A series of programme being organised by the Social Forestry department celebrating Abror week under the supervision of DFO Social Forestry, Ramban Ravinder Singh. Principal of the host school, Gulzar Begum was the chief guest on the occasion. Speakers on the occasion through light on the role of forest cover in saving the life of living beings on the earth and impressed upon the students and general public to play contributing factor in planting trees for sustenance of humans and animals.

They said that the aim of Arbor day is to realise and promote awareness of the need of planting and preserving trees and further said that it ensures community participations, poverty alleviation and job creating in forestry in order to create better life for all. The Principal asked the students to disseminate the message of forestation and sanitation besides ensuring in their surrounding areas because both are important for preserving healthy lives.
