Adventure tourism gala concludes in Bhaderwah | KNO

BHADERWAH , MAR 26 (KNO) : Week long adventure tourism course cum festival organized by the Department of Tourism and Bhaderwah Development Authority concluded on Monday amid great fun and enthusiasm with hundreds and thousands of spectators turning up at Teligarh resort ,Bhaderwah .On the occasion Additional Superintendent of Police, Bhaderwah , Rajinder Singh , Principal GDC Doda Dr Shafqet Rafeqi, SDPO Brijesh Sharma , Tehsildar Masood Ahmed Rangraz , BMO Dr Yudvir Singh Kotwal , SHO Muneer Khan and officers of various departments were also present .

The festival saw an overwhelming response from the tourists and the adventure enthusiasts from all over the country .The festival saw various events including cultural programmes by locals, adventure events like skiing completion ,mountain biking , white water rafting, zip-lining, mountaineering ,treasure hunt ,instrumental music and camping.Speaking on the occasion ,Chief Executive Officer Bhaderwah Development Authority Dr Rajinder Khajuria said that the gala would send a positive message to the nation that peace had been restored and sports and tourism activities were being organized everywhere in the Bhaderwah town of Chenab valley .He said that sincere efforts would be put in place to attract domestic and foreign tourist to this health resort so that they can feel the natural charm of the spot.

Assistant Director Tourism ,Shazia Rehman said Bhaderwah , besides having beautiful landscape and culture, has immense potential for adventure activities like trekking, white water rafting, and mountain biking and camping.Prizes and certificates were also distributed among participants and vote of thanks was presented by AEE BDA Saleem Sheikh .However Journalist Mohd Majid Malik was also awarded for best coverage of festival .(KNO)
