Militant outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba while strongly condemning the statement given by the Principal, Ancillary Medical Training Institute has said that concealment is an obligation on Muslim women. “Razia Mahmood cannot alter the Islamic teachings for mere worldly benefits.

It is in person's own interest if they abide by the teachings of Islam.” Mahmood Shah, the LeT chief in a statement to news agency CNS said that the world has admitted the fact that concealed women are safer and glorified in the society. “Islam instructs its women followers to conceal their adornment. There is nothing against the principles of Islam,” he said. Mahmood Shah further said that concealment is not only a vital part of Islamic principles but also of Kashmiri cultural values.

“As long as the infection is concerned, it is mere an imagination and has no medical background. If it is taken as a practical justification, then no surgeon will ever put on masks on their heads, face and body. The scholars of Islam must play their proactive role in the issue,” Shah said.
