An overnight cordon-and-search-operation (CASO) launched by the security forces in Pastuna village of Tral in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district ended today after nearly sixteen hours.

An official said that CASO was launched in the area last night after “specific inputs” about the presence of militants. The operation continued through the night and ended today after door-to-door searches by the forces. Earlier, forces rushed to the area and launched the operation after gunshots were reportedly heard.

However, there was no immediate confirmation of any arrests or recoveries.
