Governor launches website of Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board | KNO

JAMMU, APRIL 03 (KNO) : To enable pilgrims intending to undertake the Shri Amarnathji Yatra this summer, Governor N.N. Vohra, Chairman of Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board (SASB), today launched the redesigned and upgraded website of Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board which provides pilgrimage related information (http://www.shriamarnathjishrine.com). Shri Umang Narula, Principal Secretary to Governor and Chief Executive Officer of the Shrine Board, informed that on the Chairman’s directions, a redesigned website has been prepared with NIC’s support.

It is mobile phone friendly and aids user experience, accessibility and outreach. The website is compliant with the Guidelines for Indian Government Websites (GIGW) and accessible to persons with visual impairment. CEO informed that all necessary Yatra related information such as registration procedures, State-wise lists of doctors/ hospitals, format of application form for procuring Compulsory Health Certificate, details of Yatra routes, contact details, Health Advisory and Dos and Don’ts have been uploaded on the website and every effort shall be made to keep the website updated on a daily basis.

CEO further informed that the new website will not only provide information to pilgrims to plan their pilgrimage by obtaining advance registration but will also help the intending pilgrims to prepare themselves for the Yatra on the lines of the Health Advisory and Dos and Don’ts disseminated by Shrine Board in the interest of safety of the pilgrims. While appreciating the effort Governor directed CEO to ensure that all information on the website is updated daily to facilitate the intending pilgrims to plan their visit in a hassle free manner.

He further directed that the Special Weather Advisory Bulletins and Satellite Images, which show weather forecasts along both the Yatra routes, should be updated every half hour and the Yatra web page specially designed by the India Meteorological Department should be linked with the Yatra website during the ensuing Yatra 2018, which is scheduled to commence on 28th June and conclude on 26th August, 2018. Others present on the occasion included Shri Bhupinder Kumar, Additional Chief Executive Officer, Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board; Shri Jamyang Namgial, Scientist-F, NIC; Shri Rahul Sharma, Scientist-E, NIC and officers of Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board.(KNO)
