Bhaderwah Doda Road Blocked for three hours, 'Youth Action Committee leaders detained by Police' | KNO

BHADERWAH,APR 04 (KNO) : Police today detained one dozen Youth Action Committee Bhaderwah members , who blocked Doda Bhaderwah road for three hours and did not allow any vehicle to ply, resulting in a huge traffic jam on the either sides of the highway demanding filling of the vacant post of Gynecologist in Sud District Hospital ,Bhaderwah .Early in the morning Youth Action Committee leaders along with its president Naseer Mehboob assembled on main Bhaderwah Doda road near Domail and started protest and demonstration against state government and Minister for Health Bali Bhagath and blocked the road for traffic movement .

One dozen Youth leaders detained and later they were released. The protesting people shouting slogans in support of their demands criticized the authoritarian approach of the Government which has not even given audience to them and showed any concern to redress their demands filling the post of Gynecologist in Sub District Hospital ,Bhaderwah .Naseer Mehboob ,President YAC alleged that the government had recently transferred a gynaecologist at the Bhaderwah sub-district hospital, but the doctor had not joined even after 10 days, leaving the people at the receiving end.said, He said ,“Bhaderwah residents have been suffering badly owing to the absence of a lady doctor since long time. Recently, the government had transferred a gynaecologist from the Doda hospital to the Bhaderwah sub-district hospital, but unfortunately the doctor has not joined to date.”

“We blocked the highway for a few hours and raised slogans against the government for its step-motherly treatment with Bhaderwah. There is a dearth of specialist doctors in the hospital and we want the government to appoint someone so that people could get quality treatment at their doorsteps,” Naseer added.Meanwhile, the ADC said, “The people are protesting against the absence of a gynaecologist in the hospital. A doctor was transferred recently from the Doda hospital but she hasn’t joined her duty at the Bhaderwah hospital.”“I have taken up the matter with higher-ups.

The said doctor has been relived from the Doda hospital and asked to join the duty here. Hopefully, she will join the duty within a couple of days and till that Director Health Services Jammu ordered posting of Dr Gerdari Lal as In charge Gynecologist till permanent arrangement is made ,” he added.Rohit Sharma , Sheikh Mushtaq Ahmed , Owais Chowdhary , Kamran Khan , Mohd Hussain , Sheikh Arif and other were also detained by police .
